This Currie F9 fabricated 9" rear end assembly for the 2005 and up Toyota Tacoma features the complete housing with the Hi-Form 50 steel housing center. It also features 3"x.250" wall d.o.m. steel tubes and custom housing ends that accept the stock Tacoma axle bearings. The housing allows for all factory drum brake hardware and ABS and ESP sensors to bolt back on, as well as new heavy duty leaf spring pads mounted. Also included are the Currie performance forged alloy 35 spline axle shafts that feature the stock Tacoma 6 lug wheel bolt pattern and stock diameter register hub for proper brake drum indexing. Axle kit features wheel studs installed, Tacoma axle bearings, bearing retainer rings, and oil seals.

The only parts needed to complete this unit is a 9" high or low pinion 3rd member. Nitro Gear & Axle offers two perfect select options to complete this great upgrade. The same USA Made Billet 3rd Member case as our full competition Pro 40 Series, but this one is assembled with a street-able gearset and can be used with the standard 31 or 35 spline air locker. Or if the budget requires a different approach, as an alternative option, Nitro Gear & Axle also offers a Ford 9" 3.250" Premium Performance Nodular Iron Dropout 3rd member. This F9" Nitro housing is made of high strength Nodular Iron, with stronger Forged Steel Caps, 5/8" Grade 8 Cap Bolts, and Billet Adjuster Nuts for added strength. Rated to 1200hp. Either combination makes this exclusive upgrade more affordable and long lasting for vehicles driven on and off the road! Great for popular aftermarket upgrades on Jeep TJ, JK, Toyota Tacoma, etc. Designed to hold up where the factory rear application may not, Heavy Overland equipment vehicles, over-sized tires, etc.

Both Nitro 3rd member packages include a Ford 9" ARB 99 Air Locker! The advantage of the ARB Air Locker lies in the pneumatically operated locking system inside the differential. When activated, the Air Locker prevents the differential gears from rotating and therefore prevents the axle shafts from turning independently of each other. With both wheels tied directly to the rotation of the ring gear, the vehicle maintains maximum possible traction at all times. When unlocked, it operates just like a conventional 'open' differential. We recommend using one of the three ARB Air Compressors available.
