4.88 Ring & Pinion for Chrysler 8.25"

Nitro Gear & Axle now offers the industry's first 4.88 ratio Ring & Pinions to suit Chrysler's 8.25" differential.  The 8.25" differential has been used going back to the muscle car days, but is commonly found in Jeep Cherokee XJ & Dodge Dakota.  Until recently the durable 8.25" rear was limited to 4.56, which left Jeep XJ owners scrambling for a solution.  Now with 4.88 available the 8 1/4" is a true contender, offering more strength than a Dana 35, yet easier to source than the XJ Dana 44.

As with many c-clip style axles, the 4.88 does require a notched crosspin, or some minor clearancing to remove the crosspin.

CHRYSLER 8.25" 4.88 RING & PINION SET: C8.25-488-NG MSRP $249

Nitro also offers rear Ring & Pinions to match the front, as well as installation kits, carriers and more. Contact your Nitro Gear & Axle Distributor today for more info or to purchase.

Nitro Gear, give credit to "Underground Performance" (anchorage, alaska)for access of your name, etc.I have recently inquired through them about 8 lug wheel spacers for my 2003 dodge 3500 dually with original intentions of converting it to single wheel(4 as to 6 wheels/tires)using 2006 hummer wheels. You relayed to them that you have 1.5"-2.0" to offer. For the conversion or to go to a wider set of six, this opens a door for options.Thank you.The name may not be exact but the front axle changed at that year from Dana to "AMS".Recently I was in need of "greasable" spiders for the front spindles and in the process asked of any kind of limited slip or locker carrier for this(was in there as well for leaking axle seals) and had NO positive response from locals. Also, any conversion to switchable hubs would be useful. If you sell or can give any direction in any of these areas,I would be most grateful. Thanks again,James Graham,Palmer Alaska.
